How To Install A New Nintendo 64 Joystick

Items Needed: Phillips Screwdriver.

1) Grab a Phillips screwdriver.

2) Get your new joystick and controller ready.

3) Take out the 9 screws. Note that the top 2 screws are slightly smaller in size and may require you to grab a finer tip screwdriver in order to take out.

4) Once all 9 screws have been removed gently pull off the back piece.

5) This is where you should be at now.

6) There are 2 tabs holding the "Z Button" in place. Gently pull up on this piece and it will un-snap.

7) Unplug the cable.

8) Take out the 3 screws and remove the joystick.

9) Grab your new replacement joystick.

10) Screw back in the 3 screws. Plug back in the cable and put the "Z Button" back in place. Be careful when putting it back in as you do not want to break the tabs.

11) Before putting on the bottom make sure the cord is lined up like shown below.

12) Be sure to line up the controller shell when putting it back together.

13) Put your 9 screws back in. Remember the 2 smaller screws go on top. You really don't have to put the 2 smaller screws back in if you do not want to.

14) Make sure all of the buttons work correctly and that's it!
