Guide Provided By: XCM Live Narrated By G.G.
Estimated Time: 1-2 Hours
Experience Level: Intermediate
Items Needed: T8 Screwdriver, soldering iron, solder, wire, desoldering wick (optional), wire cutter (optional), Small knife (preferably an exacto knife), pliers (optional).

This easier rapid fire lite install method allows you to set the A, B, X and Y buttons to rapid fire mode. You do not need to cut traces in this guide and only need to solder 1 wire. If you would like to have the top buttons available for rapid fire also you must follow a more difficult guide LOCATED HERE. Also, please note there are 2 different controller board version types. Make sure to follow the correct one.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This item does not work with the newer version 3 wireless controller motherboard.

You can start by taking off your battery pack to see what version controller you have. Simply look at the exposed motherboard. An easy way to tell the difference is the version 2 & 3 motherboard usually has a resister on the board circled below. Occasionally you will run across version 2 motherboard that does not have a resister as shown below. I would say version 2 controllers are slightly easier to work on. Note that there is sometimes variations on the motherboard. Sometimes you may think you have a version 1 controller after looking on the inside behind the battery pack, but you may actually have a version 2.

6) Gently scrape away the green material with a sharper object such as an exacto knife at the surface points shown below. Once you do this, you will be able to solder to the board. To be 100% sure where to scratch away, line up your "XCM Soft Yellow PCB" on the board and scratch away where needed. This is for quick solder installation of this yellow PCB.

7) Before you solder this wire look at the next step first so you know where to route the wire.

10) Getting this stupid ribbon cable in place in this step can be somewhat time consuming and very annoying. It really saves time having an extra set of hands at this step if possible. If you are doing this by yourself, just take your time and you will get it!

11) The RB & LB buttons will not light up unless you did the expert install.

12) If you are having issues with the left analog stick clicking when you hold it down and turn to the right, then you will need to shave off some of the board like shown in the picture below. You can simply do this with a sharp object such as an exacto knife. Be sure not to shave to far as there is a bus line that runs inside.
