How To Install the XCM Xbox 360 LED thumbsticks

Items Needed: T8h torx screwdriver, 15-30w soldering iron (recommended wattage), pliers (optional).

You can start by taking off your battery pack to see what version controller you have. Simply look at the exposed motherboard. An easy way to tell the difference is version 2 & 3 motherboards usually have a C15 resister on the board circled below. Occasionally you will run across version 2 & 3 motherboards that do not have a resister as shown below. It is important you depict your version controller as the install varies per version.

LET'S BEGIN!

1) Verify you have all of the pieces.

2) Place the PCB board as shown.

3) Make sure all of the wires are installed correctly on the PCB.

4) Solder the area's below that have the red square around them.

5) Take off the adhesive on the round LED analog pieces.

6) Stick the analog pieces on exactly as shown below. Note, for extra strength and stability, you can solder the pieces on. Just be sure not to put on too much solder as you need clearance so the thumbstick sitting on top will not hit the solder below when moving the stick around.

Optional Step: If you do not complete this step, the LED lights will never shut off when the battery pack is plugged in. The LED lights do not take hardly any power to run, so having the LED's on when the controller is turned off does not waste barely any battery life.

10) Make sure the wires are routed across the board well, you can use the double sided tape (included) to secure the wires to the board.

Re-assemble the controller and you should be good to go!
