I chose PacMan as number 1 because it was complete crap and it came out after the arcade version did. So basically hundreds of thousands of people went to buy this game assuming it would be like the arcade but it was COMPLETE CRAP. Due to the huge disappointment, I made it the worst game of all time!

Those are some doozies, but they can't touch some of the horribleness that is my list.
1) Bram Stoker's Dracula (SNES) -- Here are some of the problems, taken from my review on GS:
* It has very little resemblance to the film, with some of the enemies including rats and centaurs.
* The play controls are terrible. You press jump, and the character might jump. He might not. You try to defend yourself, and you might, or you might end up jumping from 3 button presses before.
* The graphics are horrible. They were bad in 1993, and they are abysmal now. The whole game feels beige and has a washed out look to it.
In short, the game looks and plays like garbage. Avoid it at all costs.
2) Donkey Kong (INTV) - I love DK, you love DK, we all scream for DK. Imagine DK without being able to jump, or that you jump randomly. It sucks, because the arcade and many other ports are amazing.
3) Rambo (NES) -- Rambo is based on the Sly Stallone action film whose violence and gore inspired protests and awed moviegoers alike. It sucks because you spend more than the first hour killing plants and jellyfish-looking things. Not people, not even animals. Cephalopods. Lame. |

Yes
I can't remember a lot of the bad games I played. Weird. The only thing that really comes to mind is "Awesome Possum Kicks Dr. Machino's Butt"
at the time, being a kid I thought there was no way a game with a name like that could be bad. Oh how wrong I was.

Exactly 50% of the games for the Sega CD. I'm not saying which ones though. Play them for yourself and find out. Sewer Shark is on the list though.

Dude's baggin' on Bionic Commando? Are ye daft, boy?
Anywho, I definitely have to agree with E.T., Superman 64, and Shaq Fu being on the top 5 list. I actually enjoyed Fester's Quest, but that's probably because I love Addams Family.
Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest is complete and utter garbage also.
Can't think of a solid 5th title for it, as there are a few games that can fit, although the above are in my Top 5 Worst Games EVAR list, retro or not. |

I just have to interject...E.T for the 2600 is one of the better games for the system. All you have to do is pretend like it's 1981 and read the instruction manual 
It is one of the first games with multiple screens, the placement of powerups changes with every power on (making the replayability factor incredible for a 2600 cart), and it had a kick-ass title screen...for the time.
I'll meet you at the store and show you how to play, if you don't believe me.... |
