This is probably one of the more exciting things to come from Nintendo. Apparently, in May Wii users will be able to download a new Wii Want More channel. This channel will allow us to download new content for some of our Wii titles, such as SSBB, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, etc.

One of the first things available for download will be 4 new playable characters and 2 new stages for Brawl. It looks like this content will be free for the first month that the Wii Want More channel is available, but after that it will be listed for $10.

Personally, I feel that $10 is a little expensive for only 4 characters and 2 stages, easpecially when you consider that the original game has tons of stages and 35 characters for $50... So, count me in for the free download right away.

For more information, here is Nintendo's press release.

This might be better suited to the Gaming News section, but since I can't post there, I figured the Wii section made sense.

That is a really good idea, but I hope they keep the prices reasonable for the content. Hopefully they do it like the Halo maps, charge for the first few weeks and then make a it a free download.

Whether it remains a pay service would probably depend on the content, and whether people actually buy it. Some stuff on XBL will cost some MS points, some stuff is free. I would say this will probably follow suit.

As long as this is what finally gets us DLC for GH3, I'm happy. This sounds like Nintendo is finally jumping on the DLC bandwagon though, which is a good thing. Next we definately need a Hard Drive with all this information that we are going to have no place in which to store it...

$10 isn't terrible, considering an average map pack on the 360, is 800 MS points or $10.
I guess I would want atleast four maps, but that isn't too high of a price.

Well, I'm going to get the content for free right away. I'm just wondering what type of stuff will be offered for Twilight Princess. I mean, what more could you add?

What more would they want to add to a crappy game like Twilight Princess?

Ok what man? That game was not crappy by all means. It was decent, not as good as the rest but it was not crappy.

I beg to differ...The Wii Version of the game was unbearable. I had a presence of mind to actually play the GCN version, because it didn't have crappy novelty Wii controls...

The controls were not the greatest, but it was wasn't that bad. It was a launch game as well, probably the best launch game.

I would just rather not get into this debate, it just makes no sense as either way, I still keep my opinion. As long as the same thing doesn't happen like with Super Mario 64, where I lost about seven friends, because I couldn't stand that game either.

OK, so apparently this was an April Fool's joke... but that fake press release thing says March 29. So, yeah, that's lame.
