I don't know if it's just my connection, but do anybodies matches get really laggy and delayed when they play online?
And, if anyone knows, is the mario kart wii online like this too? |

Yeah Mario Kart Wii is online. What kind of router are you using? How far away is your system from the router? What type of wifi adapter are you using? _________________

My router is a SURFboard SB4100 Cable Modem, I use a standard linksys router, and my Wii is about ten feet from the wireless router.
Also, I have a mac, so all my electronics probably have some kind of curse. |

The only time I have real trouble is playing Brawl with friends, and it just ends up in constant slow motion frame by frame, I don't even have a chance to move...Otherwise, with GH, it works just fine. I would suggest buying a Nintendo Wi-Fi adapter and trying that out. _________________

Yeah, i wanted to try a wired connection, but i think it's pretty lame that nintendo makes you buy an adapter for a ethernet cable. _________________ profane |

Macs are tough to work with! We could let you borrow one from the shop for a bit, I'd have to order one. _________________

for one thing, the wii more then any other system, is almost always running at full compacity, and once you head online, its giving it quite a workout.
but besides that, i couldnt really tell ya , sounds like general connection lag issues _________________

No problems here, at least so far. I run a Linksys WRT54G, on Charter's 10mb connection. Wii is about 15 feet from the router.
I have noticed if there is a wall in the way, it will affect connection. I had this problem with one of my customers, who's Wii was in the living room and router next door in the office. Same 15 foot distance, but with the wall, it was enough to make the internal Wifi connection on the Wii have a hard time. I put a high-gain antenna kit on the router, problem solved.
Another problem I experienced was a Wii too close to the router causing lag. A customer had their Wii on their desk next to their computer, and the router on the shelf above it. It would lag so bad on Brawl it was unplayable! Moved the Wii, problem solved. Laptops will do this on some cards as well. |
