Keits "Hey everyone, I’m back and ready to announce the sequel to Midwest Championships 2010. As many of you know, I borrowed the “MWC” name from DreamTR last year as he decided not to run one. While my tournament was fundamentally different from past MWCs, it was very successful overall as an entry into the modern style of console tournament. I am running another tournament in a similar style, but DreamTR has asked for the MWC name back to run something of his own, perhaps at his arcade in Tennessee, so we are changing names!

Back in 1997 all the way through 2002, I ran a series of 6 tournaments under the name Ultimate Fighting Game Tournament (UFGT) out of Cincinnati, Ohio. So now, I bring you UFGT7: Resurrection! I’m giving you 9 months notice on the dates, so no excuses! Get that time off and make those travel plans!"

Event Registration? Event Registration will be ONLINE ONLY. No at-the-door registrations will be allowed. I will let you know when the online registration tool is available. The door prize raffle will be returning as well!

Format? We are running pools in the big games this year to make sure your time is better managed. Super Street Fighter 4, Marvel vs Capcom 3, and Mystery Game tournament should all have pool play style bracketing. Double Elimination on all standard tournaments, of course.

Games? TBA, but Super Street Fighter 4, Marvel vs Capcom 3, and Mystery Game Tournament are in there for sure. Expect anything else that is new-ish, as well, like BlazBlue CS, King of Fighters XIII, and MK9 if Warner Bros doesnt drop the ball. (Other strong possibilities are ST, HDr, and TvC…)

Venue Features? Spacious hotel rooms with two beds each. Each room has an LCD TV you can game on, though they do lag a little bit, and you must plug into them via RCA. The hotel will be selling cash concessions in the ballroom, so no outside food or drink will be allowed. It will be the same reasonably priced, pretty profane good stadium style eats as last year (hot dogs, burgers, etc). The hotel has a bar, and I do allow you bring your drinks back to the ballroom so long as it doesnt become a problem. Anyone seen giving alcohol to minors will be ejected from the tournament without warning.

Staff? Keits (Director), Murphagator, Tuboware, MrBlastyV2, Digimonemporer, Humbag, Kurasa, TBA (Contact me if you are serious about being on staff and lending a fair amount of your time at the event. We will need people to help run pools and a great deal many other things).

Evo 2011 Ranking Points will be distributed at UFGT7 as shown below for Super Street Fighter IV & Marvel Vs. Capcom 3:

Tournament Finish
1st place - 64 pts
2nd place - 32 pts
3rd place - 16 pts
4th place - 8 pts
5th place - 4 pts
5th place - 4 pts
7th place - 2 pts
7th place - 2 pts
9th - 16th place - 1 pt (Must have 128 players or more in order to receive point)
