Review: The Pitt
Fallout 3 DLC
Well I finished the Pitt and I have to say that I quite throughly enjoyed it. It was a bit longer than the Operation Anchorage DLC pack and has a lot less pointless wandering. You are given the quest similar to Operation Anchorage in that its another radio signal. Right away you are confronted with much stronger enemies. Although the Pitt Raiders were still not a trouble to kill, they are much harder than your average Raider, and that made me expect a much more enjoyable and challenging experience. Compared to Operation Anchorage, where you can almost run through the entire thing without healing, in The Pitt I faced many situations where I need to heal or was forced to take a sneaky route because of low health or ammo. This actually made the game more challenging and that extended the playability of it for its entirety. Worrying about potential enemies around the corner only to be suddenly surprised by 3 to 4 Trogs attacking from all directions was quite a feat. The story had me trying to make the right choices or the good ones, but found me forced to choose between the greater good or the good of one innocent person. It was a very tough choice, much more of a moral quandary than Bioshock's save or harvest moral dilemma. The story actually had me captivated to the point were I was glad I didn't have to walk the entire capitol wastes just to get the next 10 second clip of the back story. The story behind The Pitt is awesome, and Asher's plans are exactly what I would expect from a person in his position in the post apocalypse future.
Notes:
Save Often since its a bit buggy.
Store your gear somewhere before you go there, its a pain to get it back once your in The Pitt.
Finding all 100 Ingots is a pain.
There is a lot of stuff to carry, recommended to be played at later levels when you can carry a lot.
There are some good places to hack – Protecttrons are your friends.
Be prepared to turn on your own music, no radio stations 500 km north of the Capitol Wastes.
Overall:
Story: 8/10 – Its good, has me rooting for the good guys, and I actually had fun seeing it unfold.
New Weapons/Items: 7/10 – Not nearly as cool as some of the stuff from Operation Anchorage, but there are more of it.
Game Play: 7.75/10 – Played a lot like the normal fallout, but it was a lot buggier, and I had crashes or freezes 3 times while I played, Needless to say, I expected more from Bethesda and Microsoft for something I had to pay for, But its fun enough to stick through it.
Total – 7.5 – Play It.
Its better than Operation Anchorage, but just save often, or you'll get quite mad. |

Love the ending.
"Its better than Operation Anchorage, but just save often, or you'll get quite mad."
Wish someone told me to save often because I did an epic fail. Forced a lock and broke, cant open door so cant continue thru the main story line. Ultimate Sad Face. _________________ CaviezelGG Live Feed

I find the "collect all the ingots" achievement a bit irritating. |
