Anyone else watch any of this or at least look at a transcript or reaction to it?

I'm seriously disappointed in the lack of talk about games for the non-casual Wii owners. I understand that there are a lot of people out there who own a Wii because they like the little tricks and stuff it can do, but I just don't understand why Nintendo can't even squeeze in a decent montage about upcoming games for people who actually want to invest 20+ hours into a story.

It was possibly the worst E3 Press Conference I've ever seen...

----------------------------

As an aside, Miyamoto has hinted at a new Wii Zelda game in the works as well as hinting at a new Pikmin, Galaxy, and Mario DS game (possibly the sequel to New Super Mario Bros.).

These things alone > Nintendo's E3 Conference...

Yes, I would have to agree with you. It was a really bad press conference. First of all the people they had start it out were very boring. Most of the time they were just braging about how much their units were selling. Also I would have to agree with you about the lack of non hardcore games. When they asked Nintendo after the conferance about the lack of hardcore games the person said they had animal crossing and gta for the ds. I have a Wii because I thought it had promise. I knew most of it would be mini games and such but I thought there would be at least a few so called hardcore games. For example when the Wii first came out there was Mario, Metroid, Zelda, No More Hereos, but now what is there. Sorry I know that was a long rant and the grammar may not be the best but thats how I felt about Nintendo's press conference.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. I don't want "Wii (insert activity)" games... I want something with substance and story. The controls still have promise for regular games, but Nintendo just seems to want to milk the casual gamers...

My main problem with that is this: I doubt that many casual gamers watch E3. The press conference isn't supposed to be a financial statement where you need to caress investors and stockholders, it's a place to make people who want to play games excited for their console.

As of right now there's only 1 future Wii title I remotely care about and that's MadWorld. I hope it turns out to be something fun and not just "artistic."

It is tough for Nintendo to announce new games right now, seeing that most of their gems just recently released. But yeah, I wish they would have announced new games. What they really need is a new Donkey Kong game!

I would definitely be up for a new DK game. The potential Kid Icarus game for the Wii also excites me...

A new Kirby would be nice as well. But no, instead all they can talk about is their peripherals... Give us games, or give us death! (or our money back... actually, forget the death thing)

Yeah, what they said:

http://the-minusworld.com/2008/07/16/the-5-most-embarrasing-moments-of-nintendos-e3-conference/

EXCEPT that they need to be embarassed about #1. That guy goes by the name Ravi Drums, M Night Shyamalan had nothing to do with it.
