Publisher: Nintendo/HAL Labratory
Developer: Flagship
Release Date: 12/4/2006
Genre: Platformer
ESRB Rating: Everyone
Graphics
Kirby! Bright, colorful and happy dreamland fantasy worlds.
Plot
Somebody has stolen Kirby's cheesecake!
Setting
Dreamland. Kirby travels through familiar lands such as forests, castles, tropical islands and such in search of his cheesecake and it's thief.
Gameplay
Kirby! (again) You travel platformer style through a variety of colorful and happy fantasy worlds, inhaling enemies and blocks swallowing them whole or spitting them back at enemies. Many enemies you swallow give you special abilities. This game also features many hidden items in levels needed to fully complete the game. Some are easy and others are hidden quite well. New to the kirby series, the bottom screen allows you to store up to 5 items for later use (essentially Kirby's stomach) You can build extra lives, hold maxim tomatoes and power ups. You can also combine power ups in his stomach to recieve more poweful power ups, or a random new one. some power ups can even be combined (such as fire and sword to make a fiery sword)
Sound
Upbeat, catchy and very very happy almost all the time.
Summary
Pretty much standard Kirby fare. Swallow enemies, steal their abilities and then pummel your way through the level with your chosen powers. Keep an eye out for hidden treasure chests and powerups along the way. Boss battles are a little unique in that they try to steal chests and run off with them. You have to intercept them and kill them before they can escape with the loot. The game is fairly easy, although it can be challenging to collect all the treasure, and the bosses at the end of the game may take a try or 3 to beat. A fantastic game for kids and its fun enough to provide some time wasting fun for adults as well.

Good God! Is there no hope for humanity? How can such a game receive a rating of E? I DEMAND that the ESRB re-evaluate this game! |
