Thousands in cash prizes! Tons of giveaways!
Gamers for Giving is a competitive gaming event hosted each year by video game industry charity organization, Gamers Outreach Foundation. Backed by a story that resonates with many in the gaming community, since 2008, Gamers for Giving has been one of the largest competitive gaming tournaments in the midwest. The event features video game tournaments, special industry guests and a variety of activities for participants and spectators. Profits from the event are used to support the work of Gamers Outreach Foundation.
Gamers for Giving 2011 will be taking place on Saturday, June 18th at the Eastern Michigan University Student Center. Activities include a 2vs2 Halo Reach tournament, a 4vs4 Call of Duty Black Ops tournament (Xbox 360), a 1vs1 Starcraft 2 tournament and a 100 person BYOC console LAN party. Doors for check-in and warm up will open at 10:00 AM. All tournaments will begin promptly at 1:00 PM.
Having made a name for himself as one of the world’s best competitive Call of Duty players, Gamers for Giving attendees will have the opportunity to meet and play with Mike “Hastr0” Rufail from Team EnVyUs.
Boasting an incredible record of 1st place finishes and other top 5 placements, Hastr0 has helped head up arguably one of the most successful teams thus far in the history of competitive Call of Duty. Since 2007, the team he’s been a part of has competed in every major online event and LIVE LAN, and is one of the only teams in the world to qualify for the MLG National Championships for the past 3 seasons.
Other pros who will be attending include Walshy and many others!
