Wow, that's a really hard one to figure out. There's plenty of games that are equally phenomenal, just in their own respective genres.
Still, I'd probably have to go with the Metal Gear Solid titles, even though I personally just don't have any fun whatsoever playing those games. |

I dont know what the "best" was as I often dont end up liking the super popular games, but I was a big fan of Disgaea and Odin Sphere.

Yeah, those were very good titles. As far as an RPG goes, I'd have to say .hack//G.U. would be what I would consider as the "best." Although, part of it is because it's sheer awesomeness is so great it has to encompass three entire disc releases.
Following that, I'd probably say Xenosaga Episode III, and then Makai Kingdom. |
