It is definitely fun, but it's not the best game ever made. IMO, it's not any better than VIII. The story is a little more interesting than III's, but III had the cool job system... VII is a good game, just way overrated by certain people. |
I think it's mostly just that so many of the people who were blown away by FF7 when it came out have never really gotten over it. At the time it was released the game was incredible. It's developed this kind of fanatic cult following. Add to the fact that Square-Enix keeps teasing it's fans. They've been clamoring for a sequel for years and SE won't make one or admit to making one, but they'll put out stuff like that FF7 movie, Crisis Core, whatever that shooter was with Vincent.
